Audio Enhancement

Audio recording and audio surveillance acquire, in addition to the signal of interest, a certain amount of noise; depending on the characteristic and the amount of this noise, the interpretation of the audio stream and its transcription can be very hard or even impossible.

For example, the voice to be anlyzed may be strongly disturbed by background noise from television, car, music, or other conversations taking place simultaneously and closely.

FORLAB carries out audio enhancement by the application of suitable filters, which allow – when possible – to separate, even only partially, the signal of interest from the disturbing signal, improving the intelligibility of the audio stream. The process of enhancement is properly documented in order to ensure the repeatability of all the applied operations.
